Singapore Immigration

Singapore famed across the world as the Lion City is strategically located in Asia, and is one of the most visited overseas destinations. Experienced entrepreneurs and working professionals from across the globe love the place for the sea of opportunities available there.

What Makes Singapore Immigration a Great Idea?

  1. It’s one of the strongest global economies and dotted with thriving financial centers and bustling ports.
  2. It’s also one of the global hubs of learning. Here, you will find many top universities and centers of learning.
  3. Easy-to-follow visa & immigration rules further make Immigration to Singapore a great idea for many, especially those keen to work or do business in a developed and migrant-friendly country.
  4. It’s also a perfect business and commercial hub in Southeast Asia. It’s one of the leading corporate and financial hubs of Asia and the world. Its exciting corporate landscape makes it an outstanding place for one to build a career, set-up a business, or get international corporate recognition. Despite the fact that not everyone may receive a Work Visa, working there is typically a tremendously positive experience. The nation’s business atmosphere is the envy of nations across the globe. So, working here is a key attraction for those eager to shift there.
  5. From a social viewpoint, it’s not difficult for an outsider to adapt to life here. You will not face any major issues while attempting to integrate into the friendly Singaporean society. An important factor behind this is the nation’s linguistic diversity even as English is one of its official languages.
  6. It’s also one of the safest countries in the world. As per the most recent data, globally, the nation’s crime rates are the ninth-lowest and the fifth-lowest in Asia.
  7. It has no dearth of conveniences that make everyday life much more controllable than it otherwise could be. The nation’s public transport system is a major such convenience. Its first-rate public transport system is the envy of several nations across the world. Commuting by bus, taxi, or rail in the Lion City is not only reasonably priced but hassle-free as well.

So, whether you are keen to move to the destination for work or study or business, or residence purposes, the Parliamentary Republic will not disappoint you.

Singapore for Study Purposes

Let’s assume you are a student and want to benefit from the higher educational facilities offered by the country, you will have to apply for Student Pass if your study program in the country has a duration exceeding 30 days.

Please Note: Singapore doesn’t offer Study Visas. It offers Study Passes.

Significantly, here’s there nothing called universities as well. Universities in the country are known as the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL).

If we talk about the requirements, there must be an admission notice from a Singapore IHL. Besides, you must apply not less than 1 month before the beginning of the semester or academic year.

If, after your studies, you still want to stay in the nation, you will have to apply for a Visit Pass, that’s legally valid for 1 Year. If through this period, you manage to get an employment contract from a Singapore employer or firm, you can apply before the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) for an Employment Pass to work there legally.

Singapore for Work Purposes

There is nothing called Singapore Work Visa. In its place, the authorities issue Singapore Work Permits or Work Passes. With such a permit or pass, you can take up either temporary or permanent work in the nation.

As per the laws of the land, the recruiters, who draft overseas employees in the Lion City, must offer them wages for their service, maintain a security bond, and also provide them with health insurance.
